End-to-End Port & Gate Automation: From TOR to Driver Verification & Barrier Control

Below are our two core reference schematics for high-throughput maritime terminals and inland container depots (ICDs). Plate 01 maps the macro terminal architecture from ship-to-shore crane discharge and RMG yard stacking to the central TOS/TOR control plane. Plate 02 details the 5-stage automated gate and custody control loop—showing how Transport Order Release (TOR) validation, OCR/ANPR camera portals, automated VGM weighbridges, cab-height biometric driver verification, and PLC boom barriers interlock without manual clipboards.

TOS & Transport Order Release (TOR)

Before a truck arrives or a crane moves, the Terminal Operating System (TOS) reconciles vessel manifests (BAPLIE/COPARN), customs clearance, and haulier pre-advise to issue a cryptographically verifiable Transport Order Release (TOR) token.

Why End-to-End Gate & Terminal Interlocks Matter

Selected Stage: STAGE 01 — Transport Order Release (TOR)

10–15 min → < 60 sec

Gate turnaround compression

Replacing manual clipboard checks, paper delivery orders, and scale-house tickets with an integrated TOR + OCR + Weighbridge + Biometric barrier loop cuts per-truck gate processing from 10–15 minutes to under a minute.

Zero blind handoffs

Chain-of-custody integrity

The highest commercial risk sits at the boundary where cargo moves from port authority to a bonded ICD or haulage fleet. Binding container OCR, VGM weight, and driver biometrics into one timestamped transaction closes the custody gap.

Automated Exception Routing

Non-blocking lane architecture

When a weight discrepancy, customs hold, or unverified driver is detected, PLC interlocks hold the main barrier and route the vehicle to an exception bay automatically—preventing a single problem truck from stalling the entire queue.

Vendor-Neutral Telemetry

Retrofittable brownfield layer

Most regional ports and inland depots operate mixed-vintage cranes, scales, and barriers. We engineer the vendor-neutral middleware and PLC control bridges that unify existing hardware without ripping and replacing working steel.

Why this matters now

In port terminals, inland container depots (ICDs), and industrial corridors, the biggest operational bottlenecks and security risks rarely happen inside a single crane or machine—they happen at the handoffs between systems. A terminal may run a modern TOS or quay crane while weighbridge logging, driver identity checks, and barrier actuation still rely on paper delivery orders, manual scale tickets, and clipboard sign-offs.

Those manual gaps create two expensive problems at once: 15-minute gate queues that throttle terminal throughput, and blind custody handoffs where nobody can prove cryptographically which driver, tractor, and verified container weight crossed the perimeter barrier at a given second.

Our automation engineering closes the entire physical-to-digital loop: binding pre-arrival Transport Order Releases (TOR) to high-speed OCR/ANPR portals, automated VGM weighbridges, cab-height biometric/RFID driver verification pedestals, and deterministic PLC barrier interlocks—while keeping all telemetry open, auditable, and owned by your operation.
